Developed by Tony Sumner and Pip Hardy, Patient Voices contains over 1000 digital health stories contributed by health professionals, people living with complex health conditions, their families and carers.
The Narrative Practices Lab is now working with Tony Sumner to make the Patient Voices collection of digital health stories more accessible and searchable by researchers from different sectors and members of the public, as well as ensure the long-term preservation of the collection of digital stories for the future.
To this end, we are developing a new repository for the Patient Voices collection of digital stories that will be hosted and supported by Durham University. The name of this new special collection is ‘Enduring Voices’.
To make sure that the new special collection meets the needs of its potential end users, we are holding a series of online focus groups for health, voluntary and community sector professionals, people living with complex health conditions, their families and carers.
The focus groups will take place on Zoom on:
- Friday 10 January, 2–4pm
- Friday 17 January, 2–4pm
The focus group will last 2 hours. We will also ask participants to spend some time looking through the Patient Voices collection of digital stories in advance.
Please note that you only need to attend one focus group – we are running the same session on two different dates to maximize the number of people who can attend.
Participants will receive a generous shopping voucher as a small thank you for their time and expertise.
This project has received ethical approval from Durham University’s School of Education Ethics Committee.
If you would like to take part, please email Victoria Patton by 20 December 2024 telling us a little bit about yourself and why you would like to join the session. We will be in touch shortly afterwards to confirm your place and to send you the participant information sheet, consent form, and details for the online meeting.
