In November the Matrescence Network (led by Dr Emily Tupper, Moving Bodies Lab) attended the exhibition Acts of Creation: On Art and Motherhood at the Millennium Gallery in Sheffield as part of their efforts to engage with interdisciplinary and multi-modal work that explores the matrescence concept. We were delighted to be guided in our endeavour by Dr Fiona Johnstone from the Visual and Material Lab who gave us an excellent art history 101 and led a collective “slow looking exercise”.
