A warm welcome to Georgia Poplett (she/her), who joins the Visual and Material Lab as a Research Assistant and Events Manager for the Northern Network for Medical Humanities Research (NNMHR), and as lead convenor of the 2025 symposium Rethinking Rigour.
Georgia’s practice-led PhD specialised in Gothic literature and representations of lived experiences of postpartum psychosis. She has taught at Durham, UCL, and Exeter, previously worked as an editor in publishing, and is also a novelist. Her writing has appeared in The Mechanics’ Institute Review, The Polyphony, The Bee, and elsewhere; she has consulted on her research for TV and podcasts, and published in The Modern Humanities Research Association journal.
