A warm welcome to Darren Scantlebury-Watson, who joins the Operations Team in the Discovery Research Platform as a Finance Coordinator.
Darren joined the University’s Temporary Staffing Service in 2021, for whom he undertook nineteen placements in eighteen different areas of the University across his two periods with the Service. He has since worked in roles in the Department of Management and Marketing, in the Faculty of Science Office, and in Recruitment and Admissions. Prior to joining the University, Darren spent his career in the manufacturing sector, holding several Management and Director roles at local SME companies.
Darren is excited to join the IMH and Platform. The father of three neurodivergent children and one neurotypical child, Darren has lived experience of the importance of the emotional, social, and moral dimensions of illness and healing on healthcare provision. In his role as Finance Coordinator he hopes to contribute to operational excellence toward our mission of improved health policy and practice that will benefit the lives of communities and individuals.
